a view of dental fillings

Dental fillings are a way to fill the gaps in a hollow tooth that has been treated for a cavity or any other dental treatment. This is a painless procedure, which involves filling the gap with composite resin, porcelain filling, gold filling or amalgam filling that strengthens the tooth, and prevents further decay.

a view of dental crowns

Dental crowns are caps that are placed on a damaged tooth to restore its appearance and functioning. Crowns are made from different materials such as porcelain, metal alloy, composite, or gold alloy. Generally, crowns are cemented to support a weak tooth, to protect a tooth from further damage or to secure a dental bridge.

Implant Crowns

An implant crown is a crown that is placed over an implant. This can be done through the cement-retained and screw-retained procedures. The cemented procedure features the permanent attachment of the crown to abutment and is done on the front teeth where there is not much space to accommodate the screw-based restoration. The screw-retained crowns can be conveniently removed for cleaning or to perform any other dental repair or restoration in future.

Bridges offer a solution to restore missing teeth through four procedures, namely, traditional, cantilever, maryland, and implant-supported. The traditional method requires teeth on both sides of the missing tooth, while the cantilever procedure may be applied with only one tooth next to the missing tooth. In the case of maryland, the missing tooth is supported by porcelain bonded to the back of adjacent teeth, whereas for the implant method, the teeth are attached to dental implants in the jaw bone.
